Emily Putnam from WHEC's Rochester in Focus covers Embrace Your Sisters.
After having to cancel several events due to COVID-19, Embrace Your Sisters -- a non-profit that runs on donations -- is seeking support from the community.
The group works to provide emergency financial help for people who are going through breast cancer -- everything from a couple hundred dollars for a car payment, to rent, to helping cover treatment costs.
It currently serves 13 counties including Allegany, Cayuga, Chemung, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins, Wayne, and Yates counties. It serves these communities with a 100% volunteer staff. With Breast Cancer Awareness Month coming to a close, the organization is asking for help.
